رئيس هيئة الاستثمار يشارك في مؤتمر مصري-عُماني لفرص الاستثمار المشتركة

Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, participated in the “Egyptian-Omani” conference held alongside the celebration of Oman’s National Day at the Omani Embassy in Cairo.

Heiba highlighted that the Egyptian-Omani relations represent a solid model of mutual cooperation. These ties have witnessed significant development across political, economic, and investment levels.

He explained that Omani investments in Egypt have reached 52 million dollars. Additionally, there are 112 companies with Omani contributions. Oman ranks 50th among the countries investing in Egypt. The trade exchange between the two nations amounted to approximately 858 million dollars during 2024.

Heiba pointed out that Egypt’s Vision 2030 serves as the strategic framework to stimulate investment and empower the private sector. This vision is driven by updating legislation, enhancing governance, and automating customs procedures to reduce clearance times. He emphasized that these reforms have laid the foundation for a new phase, aiming to position Egypt among the top 50 countries globally in investment and trade competitiveness within the next two years.

In this context, the CEO urged businesspeople from both countries to strengthen cooperation and launch joint projects in promising sectors. These include industry, financial and logistics services, new and renewable energy, agriculture, and information and communication technology.

He stressed Egypt’s commitment to removing obstacles to investment and trade. The country seeks to create a supportive environment for mutual growth, which will help open new markets and achieve sustainable development. He also encouraged Omani companies to explore and expand the investment opportunities available in Egypt.

In closing his remarks, Heiba expressed gratitude for the kind invitation to participate in the celebration. He conveyed sincere congratulations to the brothers in the Sultanate of Oman on the occasion of their National Day. He reaffirmed the deep historical ties between Egypt and Oman. He further emphasized the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones’ dedication to fostering an attractive investment environment for Omani investors, aiming to broaden the horizons of joint economic cooperation between the two countries.
