Foreign and Arab Investors Acquire Egyptian Treasury Bills Worth $872.86 Million Today.

Foreign and Arab investors purchased Egyptian treasury bills today, Wednesday, through the secondary market on the Egyptian Exchange, totaling approximately $872.86 million.
Trading activity among these investors showed a strong inclination toward buying treasury bills with a net value reaching 39.15 billion Egyptian pounds, equivalent to $824.76 million.
Data from the Central Bank of Egypt, detailed in its monthly statistical bulletin, revealed that the total foreign investment holdings in treasury bills stood at about $42.35 billion by the end of July. This marks an increase from approximately $38.40 billion recorded at the close of June 2025.
At the end of trading on Wednesday, the U.S. dollar exchange rate at the Central Bank of Egypt was fixed at 47.33 pounds for purchase and 47.47 pounds for sale. This represents a rise of 22 piasters compared to the previous Tuesday.
Egypt’s foreign currency reserves experienced an annual growth of 6.7%, rising by around $3.13 billion to reach $50.07 billion by the end of October 2025. This figure contrasts with $46.94 billion held in the same month of the previous year.
